Learning outcomes

The course introduces the student to the understanding on how the community in its various declinations addresses health and social needs.
The learning outcome are:
-to know the contribution of the psychosocial sciences in the understanding of the changing dynamics both in groups and in the family
-to understand the development of working groups
-to understand how decision-making processes, occur in groups
-to analyze how society deal with patients with psychiatric disorder
-to develop community care intervention taking into account the peculiarities of community care setting

-The phenomenon of stigma and the consequences on the person with mental disorder and on the family. -Nursing care to the person and to the family and the contribution of the nurse through formal and informal networks starting from the services offered by the mental health department. Methods for assessing the needs of the person with mental disorders: tools. - Nursing assistance to the person with psychic disorder in relation to the different functions induced by mental illness: human, institutional and social resources that can be activated. -The phenomenon of aggression in mental health. The aggressiveness of the system, of the operators and of the person with psychic disorder. Approach to the aggressive behavior of the patient with psychic disorder: prevention and management.
