Learning objectives
The placement during the training course is the privileged and irreplaceable way to learn the professional role through active experimentation. The quality of the internship depends on the continuous interaction of the practical experience with theoretical reflection. Practical activity aims to: promote and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge; develop technical, educational and relational skills; promote direct knowledge of experiential areas, as well as critical reflection on the operational modalities observed.
Prerequisites and basic notions
The professionalizing internship allows the student to gradually develop a professional identity, to put theoretical principles and disciplinary knowledge into practice in different situations, to recover the principles adopted from practice, to acquire the ability to make decisions in a real context. Theoretical activities are considered prerequisites for access to the internship, in particular the teachings of the professional disciplines of the current and previous year, as well as the professional laboratories considered prerequisites for the purposes of safety in clinical learning.
Program
At the end of the internship experience, the student develops skills related to assessment; identification of the main healthcare problems; planning and implementation of assistance aimed at patients with medium/high care complexity; effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, family and professional team; carries out safe care interventions, develops a method for the safe administration of therapeutic treatments, monitoring and surveillance.
Didactic methods
The internship includes various training activities: direct experience in the services, tutorial activities for preparation and re-elaboration of the experience (briefing and debriefing), exercises and simulations in the laboratory which usually precede the direct experience in the services in order to guarantee safety towards patients and students, guided study, self-study, development of plans, projects and reports. Over the course of the three-year period, the student experiences various internship experiences accompanied and supervised by tutors and expert professionals, aimed at acquiring skills defined by the professional profile of the nurse and specific to nursing.
Learning assessment procedures
The evaluation is formative and shared on an ongoing basis with the student. The final internship grade considers the levels of competence achieved in the expected objectives for the course year
Evaluation criteria
Internship experiences are evaluated for ongoing training purposes and at the end of each year of the course through an overall assessment of the student and collegiate path
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The evaluation is collegial and considers the levels achieved in the various clinical experiences and on the basis of indicators provided in the student's formative evaluation form, the level expressed in the internship exam and in the written reports. The overall result is then expressed in thirtieths
