Learning outcomes
The course aims to analyze the role and function of the family in society. In particular, the issues related to the terminology and definitions of the family in its (new) multiple aspects will be examined in depth; how the family is studied and how it is studied in the reports of the National Institute of Statistics; its change over time and multicultural families; social networks and the effects they can have on health-disease-well-being; the condition of youth in the family.

The many ways of defining and seeing the family, the main aspects to consider for studying the family and which factors affect it.
Marriage, nuptiality.
Transnational families.
The steps to adult roles in Italy, youth trends and the parent-child relationship.
Networks: what they are, why they are essential for well-being - health, the relationship with social capital, how they are studied. Data on support networks in Italy. Networks in the pandemic.
Cultural and linguistic mediation linked to new families and health care.
