- Causes and differential diagnosis ("5 killers")
- Clinica approach in Emergency Medicine and risk assessment
- Sistematic ECG interpetation
Lecture 2
Pulmonary Embolism:
- Pathophysiology of acute right ventricular failure
- Diagnostic Algorhythm (Geneva score)
- Risk stratification/prognosis (PESI score)
Treatment: physiology of coagulation, anticoagulant drugs
Lecture 3
Acute Pulmonay Edema:
- Pathophysiology of acute left ventricular failure
- Clinical diagnosis and use of ultrasound (E-FAST)
- Medical treatment
- CPAP
Lecture 4
Metabolic Coma
- Acid-Base staus: metabolic acidosis, anion gap
- Causes of metabolic acidosis
- Diabetic ketoacidosis
Lecture 5
Common Intoxications:
- Principals of clinical toxicology
- Approach to the intoxicated patient
- Intoxications: carbon monoxide, anticoagulants, ehitlic alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines
