Learning objectives
Know the organisation of the prevention system at work with the application of the current legislation, starting from the reflection professional risks that are present in a physiotherapist’s activities.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No specific prerequisites are needed for the course.
Program
- General principles of Occupational Medicine and prevention in the workplace. Legislation on health and safety in the workplace.
- Main occupational hazards. Risk assessment, Health surveillance, Information, education and training of workers
- Preventive and occupational medicine in health care workers: Biological risk, Chemical and allergological risk
- Gender and work
- Ergonomic risk in the health care and non-healthcare workplaces: manual handling of patients and inanimate loads. Repetitive movements of the upper limbs.
- Occupational injuries. Occupational diseases and work-related illnesses. Medico-legal compliances. Focus on work-related musculoskeletal diseases.
- Rehabilitation and return to work
- The physical therapist and the protection of health and safety in the workplace

Score as x/30.
Each correct multiple-choice question 1 point.
Each correct open-ended question: 2 points.

The test will be passed with a grade of 16/30 or higher
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final score is entirely dependent on the final written exam. Any in-progress tests do not affect the final score.
