Learning outcomes

Acquire the method of factual analysis of philosophy, in particular the philosophy of science
Know the epistemological implications of medicine as a science, in particular the clinic
Apply and enhance the methods of medicine in its theoretical, clinical articulations specific to diagnosis, therapy and prognosis
Distinguish and understand the relationship between research and clinical practice.

Medical epistemology in the context of the philosophy of science; classical and modern episteme; the search for objectivity.
Induction and deduction; observation and role of theory: verificationism, falsificationism; explanation, understanding, interpretation.
The therapeutic relationship; diagnosis: inductive, deductive, probable statistics, abduction
