Program
The program consists of:
- introduction to the theory of organizations from a sociological perspective;
- concept of organization and evolution of theoretical approaches to the study of organizations;
- key concepts for describing organizations, also with specific reference to healthcare ones: structure, culture, power and environment (with a focus on the first two);
- transition to work and occupational socialization.
Students will be asked to work in small groups.

Didactic methods
The teaching methods consist of:
- lectures with sessions of discussion
- group exercises based on materials provided by the teacher with presentation and discussion of the work in the classroom
- simulation of an organizational analysis of health contexts
Learning assessment procedures
The final grade consists of two parts. The first part to be evaluated - which will have a score from 0 to 13 - will be the work carried out in small groups consisting in the critical analysis of materials provided by the teacher and in the presentation of the results in the classroom. The second part of the grade is given by a written report in which the students in small groups carry out a simulation of organizational analysis starting from their internship experiences (with a score from 0 to 18).
