Learning outcomes
The electrocardiogram is the main non-invasive diagnostic test in cardiology. The ability to interpret the data deriving from it is of fundamental importance for all operators who treat patients with cardiovascular diseases. Its simplicity of execution has allowed it to be widely disseminated and the information that can be deduced from it is extremely interesting and much more numerous than one might think.
The intent of this course is to introduce operators to the knowledge of the electrocardiogram, trying to provide the basis for a subsequent independent and more in-depth study of the subject.
Program
The module is divided into 4 lessons where the following topics will be studied in depth:
- Anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system
- Anatomy and physiology of the conduction system
- What does the electrocardiogram represent (meaning of ECG waves)
- Main arrhythmias (bradycardias, tachycardias)
- ECG tracings during pacing
- Heart axis
- Strip ECG analysis
