Prerequisites and basic notions
A basic knowledge of Roman History.
Program
This single-subject course will focus on the history of Roman imperial women from Livia to Galla Placidia, which will be explored mainly through the analysis of primary sources (literature, inscriptions, numismatics) and secondary sources (articles and monographs).
Didactic methods
The lessons will be conducted in presence of the professor. Students are invited to participate as much as possible.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam will be oral.
Evaluation criteria
Students will be asked to place individuals and events in their historical and geographical contexts, making reference to the primary and secondary sources examined during the course.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final grade will be given by using a 30-point scale, 18 being the minimum grade to pass the course.
