Learning objectives

The course aims to provide students with the cognitive tools related to the pathophysiology applied to rehabilitation programs connected to the main musculoskeletal conditions of orthopedic concern as part of orthopedic-trauma surgery of the lower limb forming the pelvic girdle and the lumbosacral spine. Physiopathology and classification of pain syndromes resulting from acute and chronic pathologies of rehabilitation concern. Major concepts of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine focused on the recovery from these disorders. Elements for the design of braces, aids and orthoses, specific to the various body parts, each characterized by its own technical and morpho-functional peculiarities, in relation to the main neurological and orthopedic diseases. Pathophysiology and rehabilitation programs related to the main musculoskeletal conditions of physiotherapy concern such as outcomes of orthopedic-traumatological surgery of the lower limb, pelvic girdle and lumbosacral spine. Physiopathology and classification of pain syndromes resulting from acute and chronic pathologies of rehabilitation interest. Major concepts of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine focused on the recovery from these disorders. PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE 2: students will have to gain knowledge on Anatomy and Physiopathology related to the neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunctions of the lower limb, pelvic girdle and lumbo-sacral spine including pain syndromes resulting from acute and chronic pathologies of rehabilitation interest. Knowledge of the main methods of semiotic and functional evaluation. Theoretical and practical knowledge of the main outcome indicators to evaluate patients’ clinical improvement. Knowledge of the main concepts of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine focused on the recovery from these disorders. ORTHOTHESES AND ORTHOPEDIC AIDS 2: Aimed at providing knowledge of medical pathologies for the creation of orthopedic aids for the lower limb, and at applying theoretical knowledge to the technical-orthopedic practice. Pathologies of the lower limb, pelvic girdle and back-lumbar spine: students will have to acquire all the necessary knowledge related to congenital, inflammatory, traumatic, degenerative and neoplastic pathologies of the lower limb, pelvic girdle and lumbo-sacral spine. PATHOLOGY OF THE LOWER LIMB, PERVIC GRID AND LUMBOSACRAL SPINE: students possess all relevant knowledge related to the congenital, inflammatory, traumatic, degenerative and neoplastic pathologies of the lower limb, pelvic girdle and lumbosacral spine.
