Bibliography
Didactic methods
The teaching methods consist of face-to-face lectures for transmitting basic notions, key categories, fundamental application tools, and exercises to implement theoretical knowledge.
The content of the textbooks and the lectures and tutorials delivered in the classroom adhere to the syllabus.
Other teaching material is available on the e-learning platform of the course.
The syllabus and study materials are the same for attending and non-attending students.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam procedures applied to check the student’s knowledge are based on a written test that can be eventually integrated by an oral exam, at the student's discretion.
The duration of the written test is one hour and forty-five minutes.
The exam does not discriminate between students that attend the course and self-taught students.
Evaluation criteria
The written test is valued on a scale of 1 to 30 and relates to the entire course programme.
As far as the Part 1 (business combinations) is concerned, the written test includes two sections, that are organizes as follows:
- the first section is composed of multiple-choice questions; the assessment is aimed at verifying the student’s knowledge on the legal, economic and fiscal implications of the business combinations;
- the second section is based on the methodological implementation of the acquired knowledge on a specific business combination; the student is required to develop the evaluation and accounting representation of the given business combination; this section is aimed at verifying the specific knowledge and skills of the student on the different operating implications of the business combinations.
For the Parts 2 and 3, the exam includes an open question; the assessment is aimed at verifying the knowledge of these Parts and the critical and judgement skills of the student.
The oral exam – which is optional on student’s request if the written test has been passed with a grade higher than 24/30 - is aimed at verifying the communications skills of the student. In particular, the oral exam intends to check:
- depth and extension of the concepts learned by the student;
- command of language in the explanation of concepts and notions;
- ability to link in a systematic manner the acquired knowledge.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The overall mark of the written test is given by the sum of the score, expressed in 30 hundredths, for the individual questions that compose it, according to the following distribution:
- maximum 7 points for the first question of Part 1;
- maximum 18 points for the second question of Part 1;
- maximum 5 points for Parts 2 and 3.
A maximum of 3 points are awarded to the oral test, which can be added to or deducted from the mark given in the written test, depending on the performance demonstrated by the student.

Type D and Type F activities
- tutte queste iniziative richiedono, per l'acquisizione dei relativi CFU, il superamento di una prova di verifica delle competenze acquisite, secondo le indicazioni contenute nella sezione "Modalità d'esame" della singola attività;

Internships
The curriculum of the three-year degree courses (CdL) and master's degree courses (CdLM) in the economics area includes an internship as a compulsory training activity. Indeed, the internship is considered an appropriate tool for acquiring professional skills and abilities and for facilitating the choice of a future professional outlet that aligns with one's expectations, aptitudes, and aspirations. The student can acquire further competencies and interpersonal skills through practical experience in a work environment.
