Learning outcomes
Environmental issues at local, national, and global levels are the most challenging that the population is facing today. One of the objectives of this course is to understand the complex interactions of natural processes with economic decisions and policies. Students will learn about the environmental policy tools in response to environmental problems. This programme provides graduates with a solid theoretical base and practical methods of environmental economics relevant to policy decisions and research.
At the end of the course, the programme gives students the opportunity to develop:
• A critical understanding of the different ways in which economic decisions, market, and government policies can affect the natural environment;
• To assess the strengths and weaknesses of the various environmental policy tools and understand the basis for choosing between alternative tools to solve specific environmental problems;
