The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes

The lessons will show a number of case studies in order to clarify the teorethical and methodological basis of Humanities Computing, a science which, by means of the methods belonging to Computer Science, studies the structures of representation of the knowledge peculiar to the Humanities, the data-models and the implemetation of procedures belonging to such kind of data.

Program

Contents of the lessons:
- Digital edition of primary sources
- Sharing the information: systems of data storage and databases for the Humanities
- The digital text semantics. Texts, hypertexts and hypermedia in the Humanities
- Models for the computational analysis of digital texts
- Dealing with semantics data: semantic knowledge databases for classical languages. The case of Latin WordNet
- Impacts of digital literacy on textual perception
