Learning outcomes
Acquire the ability to apply the knowledge learnt in frontal lessons in planning the physiotherapy process on real clinical cases on videotapes, paper, or simulated showing cases in which the patient is affected by visceral, cardio-respiratory, geriatric and pediatric pathologies. Develop clinical reasoning from data collection to the planning and implementation of physiotherapy intervention in complex clinical cases. Organize therapeutic exercises taking into account all aspects (communicative, educational and others). Set up the rehabilitation intervention considering all aspects in a "biopsychosocial" perspective.
Program
Starting from the presentation of "clinical cases on paper" the student is guided to:
• identify the specific elements of the pathology and the significant and peculiar data of the case in
• question;
• contextualize knowledge related to the specificity of geriatric, cardiocirculatory and respiratory rehabilitation;
• search for the main validated tools for the multidimensional evaluation and then the verification of the outcomes;
• interpret the data and assessments for the definition of functional diagnosis, physiotherapy problems and objectives;
• identify the most appropriate communication and relational methods for establishing effective therapeutic communication with the patient;
• considering the specificity of the acute and chronic patient in the different contexts, explicit the strategies and the physiotherapy treatments in line with the Based Practice Evidence (EBP);
• define the elements of therapeutic education towards the patient and family/caregivers;
• understand the role of the physiotherapist in the specific multi-dimensional and multi-professional rehabilitation project.
