Learning outcomes
Use knowledge acquired from frontal lessons in the planning of the physiotherapy process on real clinical cases, by means of videotapes, paper, simulated cases with patients affected by musculoskeletal or neurological pathologies. Develop clinical reasoning from data collection to planning and implementation of physiotherapy intervention. Organize therapeutic exercises by taking into account the main aspects (e.g. biomechanics, communication, education and others) and applying basic manual therapy techniques.
Program
The Laboratory will provide students with an exhaustive introduction to physiotherapy clinical reasoning and to use manual therapy and therapeutic exercise in musculoskeletal disorders.
First, students will be engaged in lessons and clinical cases on:
- musculoskeletal pain and clinical features;
- role of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise in musculoskeletal disorders.
Second, students will be involved in a practical lesson where they will practice different manual therapy techniques like "symptoms modification procedures" and they will think on possible therapeutic exercise progressions about different musculoskeletal conditions.
