Learning objectives

The course is aimed to provide the student with an organic framework of the discipline of transport law in all its articulations, with particular reference to both national and supranational legal regulations.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to analyse the legal institutions examined; to elaborate on the legal issues relating to the main topics of the subject; to use the appropriate and specific legal jargon; to make independent judgments on actual cases thanks to a method based on continuous learning and knowledge updating.

Prerequisites and basic notions

A good knowledge of the fundamental institutions of private law, commercial law and international law is required.

Program

The course program is structured as follows:
- The system of sources;
- Transport infrastructures: ports, airports, motorways and railways (and related services);
- Access to the transport market (maritime, air, road and rail); - The transport contract in general;
- The transport of people;
- The transport of goods (and transport documents);
- Multimodal transport;
- The rental contract (in particular of ships and aircraft);
- Organized tourism contracts; - The logistics services contract;
- The network contract in the transport sector.

Didactic methods

The course will be held through lectures in which the fundamental institutions of transport law will be examined. In the laboratory part, concrete cases will be presented and/or experiences of operators in the sector will be exposed in order to allow students to apply institutions and concepts in operational reality.
The study of the subject will be done on the manual indicated in the bibliography; any additional supplementary materials will be uploaded to the course Moodle.
Attendance is not mandatory, there is no different program for attending and non-attending students nor different materials.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam consists of a written test, multiple choice quiz, aimed at evaluating the knowledge acquired by the student during the course and the achievement of the expected training objectives.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation will take into account, in addition to the level of knowledge of the topics covered in the course, the ability to analyze the discipline of the topics covered with a critical spirit.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final grade will be expressed in thirtieths; the test consists of 11 questions, each correct question is worth 3 points (each incorrect question is worth 0) and a passing grade is achieved with a score of 18 out of 30. By answering all the questions correctly, it is possible to achieve honors.
