Learning objectives
The course is intended to provide the student with the knowledge of the basic legal rules governing the functioning of religious entities.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to analyse and elaborate on the basic legal notions and rules governing the law of religious entities; to apply them to actual cases; to use the appropriate and specific legal jargon; to adopt correct lines of reasoning and argument, formulating autonomous judgments.

- Constitutional principles regarding religiously inspired bodies in the Italian legal system
- The system of unilateral and contractual regulatory sources on religious bodies
- The discipline of bodies in canon law and in other confessional systems
- The civil recognition of ecclesiastical bodies - Types of religious bodies religious inspiration
- The asset management of ecclesiastical bodies
- Ecclesiastical bodies in the discipline of the Third Sector

Didactic methods
The teaching consists in:
• lectures on the course topics
• analysis of materials placed on e-earning platform and discussed during lectures, in order to foster a critical approach by students
• conferences by Italian and foreign experts, so as to provide students with different approaches to the subject
Learning assessment procedures
Expected knowledge and skills will be verified with a final oral exam on the entire program. Attending students will be able to prepare for the exam using notes from the lessons. Erasmus students are invited to contact the teacher to agree on the exam methods.
Evaluation criteria
The preparation will be evaluated (with a mark expressed out of thirty) taking into account, in particular, the following indicators: knowledge of the topic, completeness and clarity of presentation, argumentation skills and use of correct legal terminology.
