Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to understand the framework of the food legislation in the national, European Union and international contexts, through the analysis of principles, rules, goods, subjects, rights and obligations, controls, and responsibilities.
Specific attention will be given to the tools for regulating the markets, the rules on food safety and the protection of the food consumer.

Didactic methods
The lessons will be developed in Italian through a theoretical-practical method. Exercises are planned to facilitate the understanding of the legal texts and the system of sources. For classroom activities, the prior reading of the texts suggested by the teacher is required in order to allow the learning and processing of the content of the study material that students will have to present for exams.
At the beginning of the course, further details on the program will be provided via the Moodle platform.
Non-attending students are invited to consult the Moodle platform and contact the teacher in case of doubts as well as to check if regulatory changes have occurred.

Learning assessment procedures
The assessment of learning will take place through a single oral test.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation will take place through the following criteria:
- the depth and breadth of the knowledge gained;
- the property of language;
- analytical and argumentative ability;
- the capacity for critical reflection.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final evaluation is expressed in 30ths. The awarding of honors is linked to the following evaluation of the exam: complete control of the discipline, excellent language skills, excellent analytical and argumentative skills and critical reflection on the legislation.
