Learning outcomes

The course will provide students with an introduction to the process of building historical knowledge and its phases. The student will have to acquire the sense of subjectivity of knowledge, the peculiarities of historical research, the difficulties of information processing, the multiple operations of the construction of the sense in different contexts.

Program

During the lessons, reflections will be discussed for a methodological introduction to the study of history. In particular, opportunities and problems from a variety of sources in different eras will be analysed, as well as the different approaches of recent historiography.

Examination Methods

The examination will be divided into a written and an oral part. In the written section students must answer four open questions, one for each book indicated in bibliography. Written tests will be explained and discussed in the oral part. The vote is awarded in 30/30. Examination methods are identical for attending and non-attending students.
