Program
Enantiosemy between philosophy and psychoanalysis. Historical-natural languages have, unlike artificial languages, an extraordinary plasticity that manifests itself in particular in the phenomena of polysemy. Enantiosemy, or the ability of a word to contain opposite meanings, is the most radical example of this plasticity. Enantiosemy has interested not only linguistics and the philosophy of language but also psychoanalysis. The course will explore this intertwining, following the analyses of Abel, Freud, Benveniste and Derrida.
