Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will be able to: 1) know the principles of Russian morphology and syntax, the lexicon, and microlanguage of tourism and commerce; 2) be able to apply them to the comprehension of complex written and oral texts and in professional comunication; 3) demonstrate to have the Russian language skills that correspond to the C1 level of the CEFR.

Program

CONTENTS
The course focuses on the following aspects:

✔ MORPHO-SYNTAX
Morphology:
(1) Verbal aspects: formation; sposob dejstivija; usage.
(2) Participle and gerund.
(3) Negative and indefinite pronouns.
Syntax:
(1) Subject, predicate, attribute, complement.
(2) The independent clause: impersonal constructions
(3) The dependent clause: temporal, causal and final clauses; conditional clauses etc.

✔ PHRASEOLOGY
Idiomatic expressions and proverbs.

✔ TRANSLATION
Reading, translation, and analysis of different types of text; particular attention will be given to touristic and commercial texts.

WRITTEN + ORAL

PREREQUISITES: students can take the exam only if
– they have acquired the С1 language certificate;
– they have passed the exams “Русский язык 2” and “Русская культура и литература 2”.
