Text and image: Intertextuality and English Literature

The aim of the course is to provide a critical-methodological introduction to the study of English literature and culture during the 19th and 20th century.
The course will start with the concept of intertextuality, as a crucial element which highlights how the process of reading creates a network of relations between a text and all the other texts to which it refers and relates. This methodological tool will be applied to the analysis of different novels and films.
