PROGRAMME of the ACADEMIC YEAR 2015-2016

Ambito disciplinare: Discipline storiche

Tipologia dell’attività formativa: base

Formative goals: a) the knowledge of the history of Europe in the mediaeval Millennium; b) competence in the interpretation and in the analysis of the historical settings in which the students live, also in connection with their specific profession of educator; c) in the meantime students are directed to improve the methods of historical research guided by the teacher, through the study of the specific case of Belief and Disbelief in the Middle Ages.

These goals are pursued:

a) with the study of the handbook: P. GOLINELLI, Breve storia dell’Europa medievale, Bologna, Pàtron, 2004, explained during the course.

b) MAIN COURSE:

Mathilda of Tuscany. A Woman of the Middle Ages

to prepare with notes from the lessons, and the study of the medieval sources introduced to the students during lessons, and available from the teacher.
