MM: BIOINFORMATICA
------------------------
The course aims to introduce the students to the use of Biomedical databases accessible via the computer network. During the practical exercises the following computational tools for querying the major databases will be used: GeneBank, Genecards, SwissProt, CDD (Conserved Domain Database), and OMIM (Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man). The human genome sequences will be analyzed using alignment algorithms such as BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool) and FASTA; research strategies based on the alignment programs will be applied to genomic sequence analysis; programs accessible by the server ExPASy (Expert Protein Analysis System) Bioinformatic resource portal will be used for protein analysis.

Bioethics (from ancient Greek ἔθος (or ήθος), ethos, behavior, dress, customs and βίος, bios = "life") is a discipline that deals with issues of morality related to biological research and medicine.

  • siano presenti posti disponibili del rispetto della programmazione nazionale vigente, per l’anno di riferimento;
  • siano stati attribuiti i seguenti CFU:

27 CFU per l’ammissione al secondo anno;

85 CFU per l’ammissione al terzo anno;

143 CFU per l’ammissione al quarto anno;

203 CFU per l’ammissione al quinto anno;

263 CFU per l’ammissione al sesto anno;
