Learning outcomes
The aim of the Infectious Diseases Module is to clarify first of all the difference between infection / colonization and infectious disease. In detail, epidemiology, etiology, transmission modalities, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of HIV, HAV, HBV, HCV, M.tuberculosis infections will be taken into consideration. Bacterial meningitis and enteritis will also be addressed. Finally, care-related infections will be addressed in their entirety, with a particular focus on CVC-related bacteremia and on the importance of hard-hygiene with hydro-alcoholic solution for the prevention of these infections.
