The course introduces the student to an understanding of the principles and criteria that should inspire him in his work towards the user, the colleagues of the organization and the professional community; focuses on the development of a base of ethical and ethical knowledge that establish the principles of autonomous professionalism, responsible and consistent with the current issues to be addressed.

The aim of the course is to provide to the students the basic knowledge of the most important medico legal issues, which they will face as nurses. In particular, the course will be focused on the problems concerning the informed consent and that concerning the activity of reporting medical information to the Prosecutor.

The teaching introduces the student to inspiring precepts and parameter’s comprehension, aim to operate with patients, colleagues and professional community; it focuses on the development of ethical and deontological knowledge which funds independent, responsible and coherent professionalism’s precepts with actual problems

The normative references for the professional exercise: profile (hints already dealt with also at the 1st year), deontological code, basic and post-basic training Deontology and ethics: analysis of concepts and their goals and integrations within care decisions The process of building the code of ethics and the College Professional (Federation and Regional / Provincial Colleges): meaning and functions. Free profession The themes of the code of ethics - guide values of nursing care - respect for the will of the patient: examples and additions with the concept of conscience and conscientious objection - protection of the dignity of the assisted person: connection with the subjectivity of pain, law 63 of pain on systematics detection of pain, restraint and dignity and will of the patient - protection of the safety of the assisted persons with analysis of the positive responsibility for taking charge and maintaining their skills and analysis of the concept of supervision as a form of responsibility (differentiating it from the concept of comparison) - the duty to improve the quality of care and professional life: keeping up-to-date, self-learning, knowing and using the Guidelines, continuing education and continuing education in medicine - Relationship between professionals and preservation of the profession's decoration: working in a team, interprofessional practice, reporting one's own mistake and others - Relationship with the Institutions
