Learning outcomes
Laboratory 1 "Safely manage central and peripheral vascular accesses"
Discuss motivations and criticalities in the preservation of the Venoso heritage, valuation of assets, and criteria for the prescription of the plant.
A debate on evidence of efficacy and good practice, the areas of responsibility and action of the nurse.
On Central access venous catheter (CVC), Central peripheral Insertion (PICC) and midline exercise: the replacement of the dressing with recognition, the preparation and management of the material, the washing of the catheter, using the technique «Flushing», The venipuncture
Laboratory 2 "Bibliographical research in Databases"
Exercise: • Free search in the PubMed and Cinahl online databases through the use of a teacher-defined research strategy (with keywords and Boolean operators) recognizing and knowing how to use: search string, result page, structure Of the record, filters and function "similar articles"
Laboratory 3 "Acute or critical patient care through simulated scenarios"
Laboratory objectives:
At the end of the day the student has had the opportunity to • Discuss the expected skills and behaviours observed and acted in the assistance, selecting those necessary for the safe and pertinent assistance of the patient
• To apply the knowledge and competences acquired during the three years of course to the situation in order to understand and identify the possible developments, demonstrating the ability to use indicators useful to recognize early the worsening of the clinical conditions
• Integrating new knowledge and skills, in particular patterns and patterns of thought typical of assistance to the critical phase of disease.
• Discuss features and possible strategies for effective team communication.
The skills required and developed will be related to: Observation and clinical evaluation process; Risk management interventions and effective
Program
Laboratory 1 "Safely manage central and peripheral vascular accesses"
Organization of the Day:
First plenary phase where the preservation of the Venoso heritage is discussed and motivated. Debate on evidence of efficacy and good practice, areas of responability and action of nurses.
Second stage in the classroom with vascular access experts who guide the students who try to replace the medication, the washing of the catheter and the venous sampling in practice.
Lab 2 "search in online databases "
Organization of the Day:
First phase: Students access from PC guided by tutors; The main passages are: Central Library E. Meneghetti, PubMed free search, PubMed Mesh.
Second phase: Cinahl free Search
Third phase: Virtual Medical library, Claudian library; The Tutor guides you to the recognition and use of article recovery mode dictionaries; Explains how to make an article online order.
Fourth phase: free search; Students try themselves freely individually or in pairs on personal research strategies.
Laboratory 3 "" Acute or critical patient care through some simulated scenarios "
First phase: Opening and familiarization with the second phase materials: Briefing and Simulation
Third stage: debriefing
Fourth phase: Briefing and Simualzione
Fifth phase: Debriefing
