Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to investigate some epidemiologically relevant and exemplary clinical frameworks for the purpose of care, developing them with an integrated surgical and nursing approach. Patient problems will be addressed considering their evolution, reasoned patient evaluation, and choice of care based on the patient's evidences, appropriateness and needs. This Teaching is built on the knowledge of nursing nursing, nursing principles, vigilance, physiology, pathophysiology and general pathology faced at the 1st year.
Objectives of the module
- Basics in anesthesia and analgesic therapy
- Nursing aspects of pre-, intra- and post-senesthetic (surgical)

Program

1) Definition and mechanism of action of the various techniques used in anesthesia

2) Preoperative visit
      - Anesthesiological risk assessment
      - ASA classification
      - consent of the patient

3) Anesthetic Premedication Drugs

4) Anesthesia Types:
      - general anesthesia
      - locoregional anesthesia

5) Specific drugs for general anesthesia (hypnotics, muscle relaxants, etc.)

6) Peripheral anesthesia specific drugs (local anesthetics)

7) Anesthesiological techniques (2 hours)
    Phases of general anesthesia:
           - from induction to awakening
           - pre- and postoperative care (in "postoperative")
           - monitoring and criteria for discharge
 
8) Locoregional anesthesia techniques (2 hours)
The various locoregional procedures

9) Problems and complications in anesthesia
 
10) Pain Therapy: (2 hours)
      - Physiology and physiopathology of transmission of pain
      - Clinical evaluation of pain
      - Pharmacological treatment of pain
      - Invasive pain therapy techniques (Perdural, PCA, etc.)
