Learning outcomes
Reflection on Rehabilitation’s methodologies in NPI.
Implication of new neurophysiological knowledge on the therapeutic practice.
Having the tools to observe the disabled child and evaluate Adaptive functions.
Knowing the individual strategies (coping solution) that the child can use to improve the function and better achieve its goals.
Being aware of the complexity of the relationship dynamics with the child, his family and the context in which they live.
Being able to identify therapeutic targets to build an individualized project on time (functional Appointments), ways (ecological and holistic approach) and the natural history of the disease.
Being able to build a therapeutic setting based on the needs and requirements of the child and on the identified therapeutic objectives.
Program
Know the conceptual, methodological and cultural bases of rehabilitation in the developmental age. Knowing the specificity of physiotherapy in pediatric age (holistic approach, evolutionary process, concept of habilitation-rehabilitation, centrality of the family) for the musculoskeletal, cardio-pulmonary, central and peripheral nervous systems. Observation, adaptive functions, evaluation. Knowing the methodology for treating childhood disabilities and knowing how to set up a physiotherapy program, how to construct a therapeutic session (therapeutic setting), physiotherapeutic facilities for modifying the motor module, the scheme and the representation in disabilities with neurological damage, for the collection of perceptual information, for their processing and subsequent representation. Know the principles and methods of physiotherapy intervention in the main childhood neuropsychiatric pathologies such as infantile cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular diseases, dyspraxias, epilepsies, pervasive developmental disorders; know the specifics in developmental age of the design of therapeutic exercises, of the manual techniques of facilitation and containment, of the identification and proposal of aids and orthoses, of therapeutic education to the contextual factors of the child's life, of the tools for evaluating the modifiability of the framework clinical. Know the fundamental principles of the observation and assessment of the premature baby - the behavioral approach and the General Movements (GM's Prechtl) - of the "care" and physiotherapy in Neonatal Intensive Care, of the modalities of enabling and rehabilitative management of the premature baby and its family. Knowing and applying the specific maneuvers of the "Infant Massage". Knowing the fundamental elements of post-surgical physiotherapy (functional surgery) and post-inoculation of botulinum toxin in disabilities with neurological damage.
