Dentistry and Children's Dental - Oral & Health Care (2018/2019)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Program
1. First visit to pediatric dentistry: anamnesis; intraoral, extraoral and functional clinical examination.
2. Chronology of dental eruption: deciduous, mixed and permanent dentition; characteristics of shape and size of deciduous teeth; sequence, chronology and anomalies of the eruption of deciduous teeth; sequence, chronology and anomalies of the eruption of permanent teeth.
3. Communication and approach in the pediatric age: definitions; dental fear and anxiety; dentist-child relationship; first meeting; behavioral management techniques.
4. Prevention in pediatric dentistry: concept of health and prevention of oral health; caries in the patient in developmental age; nutrition and prophylaxis; Early Childhood Caries (ECC); erosions in the patient in developmental age; periodontal disease in the patient in developmental age; odontostomatological prevention tools; home oral hygiene; sealing of furrows and cracks.
5. Dentoalveolar traumatology in pediatric dentistry: epidemiology and etiology; characteristic factors of dentoalveolar trauma; classification of traumatic injuries; prevention; hints of treatment.
