Learning outcomes
The aim of this course both theoretical and practical knowledges, based on the latest scientific protocols and methodiscs, in order to enable each participant to perform professionaly oral hygiene also in those patients who have dental implants. It is also a duty of the dental hygienist to inform the patient how to perform daily a correct oral hygiene at home.

• Dental implants: history and antomy
• Meaning of osseointegration
• Peri-implant anatomy
• Care of patients with dental implants: provide the appropriate skills to prepare the patient and maintain those who undergo with professional dental hygiene and oral hygiene at home
• Care of the patient affected by peri‐implant mucositis and peri‐implantitis
• Scientific protocols of peri-implantar maintenance
• Care of the smoker patient
