The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes

This course intends to provide students with the competencies to analyze the context of public ser-vices in Italy, with a particular focus on public utilities. In addition, the course aims to develop in stu-dents critical understanding of the role of public vs. private actors in public service management. Moreover, the course will offer some managerial tools to improve service quality according to a cus-tomer-oriented approach. In order to encourage students’ learning ability, real-life case studies will be presented and discussed.

Program

Training (Learning) objectives 2020-2021
The course intends to:
1. Briefly illustrate the leading Management techniques
2. Pass on the legal and technical knowledge required to understand the situation of the public service in Italy, with specific attention to the local public service.
3. Encourage a critical point of view of the public and private roles in managing public services.
4. Be aware of the great THREAT: THE GLOBAL WARMING and about the contrast Strateies: decarbonization and Green Deal

Examination Methods

The comprehension of point 1. and 2. of the program and the general knowledge of the other 6 point will be assessed through a written examination.
The students who pass the written examination will be further assessed through an oral examination finalized to demonstrate the deeper comprehension of the remaining 6 points.

Type D and Type F activities

Le attività che consentono l’acquisizione dei crediti riservati alle attività formative a libera scelta dello studente (TAF D) sono le seguenti:
• Un insegnamento attivato nei Corsi di studi afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche;
• Un laboratorio didattico attivato nei Corsi di studi afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche;
• Un insegnamento previsto dall’Offerta Formativa di Ateneo, non impartito nell’ambito dei corsi di studi afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche: il riconoscimento dei crediti acquisiti sarà subordinato alla preventiva presentazione di coerenti programmi formativi valutati e approvati dal Collegio didattico.
• Attività formative organizzate dai singoli docenti del Collegio didattico o del Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche: previa approvazione del Collegio;
• Attività formative che implicano la partecipazione a convegni o seminari organizzati sotto il “logo” del Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche o dell’Ateneo: devono essere preventivamente approvate dal Collegio didattico indicando un docente di riferimento del Collegio didattico ovvero del Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche.

Internships

Internships are aimed at enabling students to gain direct knowledge of the world of work and to acquire specific professional skills.

Internships are carried out under the responsibility of an individual lecturer, and can be carried out in professional firms, public administration bodies and companies recognised by the University of Verona.

Any CFU credits gained by doing internships will be recognised and recorded by the University in accordance with the relevant University regulations in force (Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari).
