Program

This module covers, also through practical activities and simulations, multiple aspects of protocol and of the fundamental rules of etiquette that should be followed in a number of private and public occasions, including written correspondence.

PART ONE:

- Historical fundamentals and legislation
- Current ceremonials
- The basic rules of ceremonial: the order of precedence in public office; the “golden rule” of ceremonial
- National symbols – The flags and their location
- Official and courtesy visits, meetings and business visits, public events, signing of agreements: reception of participants and hospitality, organization and management of public events.
- Exercises and simulations

PART TWO:

- Institutional correspondence: letters, messages, invitations. Social networks
- Convivial meetings
- Representation gifts
- Clothing
- Dos and don’ts: between ceremonial and etiquette
- Exercises and simulations

Examination Methods

Continuous assessment plus one midterm test and one final test.
