KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Multidisciplinary knowledge aimed at critical analysis of specific social problems
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ability to interpret the different situations of hardship and to promote the well-being of the community.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The course aims to provide the knowledge necessary for a Social Worker to understand neuropsychic development and its neurological and mental disorders, in the age between zero and eighteen, because many social interventions in the area of 'developmental age, specific problem area, are multi-professional, especially in situations of strong physical impairment and social situations at risk. The course will show the typical prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilita-tion of infantile neuropsychiatry.
Prerequisites and basic notions
- Knowledge of the basics of Social Services - Knowledge of the general meaning of the concepts of integration and inclusion; - Basic knowledge of inter-relational dynamics

Frontal lessons with possible ongoing exercises
Learning assessment procedures
During the exam, candidates (both attending and not the lessons) will be asked to to answer written questions with multiple choise anwers. An eventual oral exam may be requested to integrate.
The multiple answer questions will be 30 and 1 point will be assigned to each correct answer.
The eventual oral exam consists in questions for which the evaluation be done according to coherence and detail of the answer.
There is no difference between evaluation of attending and not attending students.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation will be of max thirty points. Each correct answer is worth 1/30. Every mistake and every answer not given is equal to zero points. To pass the exam, at least 18 questions must be answered correctly.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
Result obtained with the written exam, and possible oral integration
