MED/18 - GENERAL SURGERY

Learning outcomes

The aims of this course is to increase the knowledge of liver surgery: the different surgical techniques applied in the clinical practices and the therapy of the different liver diseases will be described.

The course will describe the surgical anatomy, the different procedures that can be applied to optimize the liver function and volume before the surgical operation and the basic principles of postoperative monitoring of the patients submitted to liver surgery.

The students will participate to clinical case discussion of patients with liver diseases who are candidate to liver surgery.

Postoperative monitoring and follow-up of the patient undergoing hepatic surgery
