Learning objectives
We will focus on how to present a research question in a way that catches the reader's attention, what sources to use when looking for information to back up research questions, and how to plan, draft, and revise a project proposal. We will also address how to find, organize, and review useful sources from the most important scientific databases and discuss the good practices and fundamental issues of writing a project proposal through exercises in small groups and peer-tutoring. Critical aspects of the project evaluation process will be considered.
Prerequisites and basic notions
The seminar is in continuity with the seminar "Devising a research project"and is aimed at guiding PhD students through the complexities of planning, organizing, and writing a project proposal.
Program
In the first part, we will discuss the basic guidelines for writing a project proposal in the field of psychology and education, with a specific focus on the literature review process in relation to the research questions of interest, how to present your findings and methodological issues related to the research process. In the second part of the seminar, students will familiarize themselves with the project proposal process through individual exercises.
Didactic methods
Exercises in small groups, peer-tutoring and individual exercises will be used.
Learning assessment procedures
The individual learning and basic knowledge will be verified through exercises in small group and discussion.
