Learning objectives
The teaching of Italian literature (m) aims at: • perfect the linguistic, historical-literary and formal structures of Italian literature; • analyze and comment on literary texts from a philological-critical point of view and through the tools of literary hermeneutics (stylistic and metric philology, textual philology, narratological aspects, ancient and modern interpretations of the texts in question). The course aims to provide students with the ability to read and interpret critical-philological and historical-literary texts of Italian literature. At the end of the course the student must be able to • understand, analyze and translate the text / texts taken into consideration; • place the examined works within history and literary genres; • knowing how to apply the acquired knowledge to other texts of the Italian literary tradition of different ages and gender; • be able to communicate the acquired knowledge with an appropriate vocabulary. Prerequisite: Knowledge of Italian literary tradition; capacity for orientation and historical contextualization.
