Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

L-FIL-LET/09 - ROMANCE PHILOLOGY AND LINGUISTICS

II semestre dal Feb 23, 2015 al May 30, 2015.
Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide an advanced understanding of the language, contents and methods of Romance Literature, and to enable students to effectively analyse a Romance text. During the course a number of Occitanic, Oitanic and Spanish text from the Medieval period will be throughly analysed.
Program
Course Specifics:
-Description of the Romance domain and the lingustic evolution from Latin to Romance languages. History of Romance Philology. Use of Dictionaries and Grammars.
-Introduction to textual criticism with practical examples of critical analysis of some medieval manuscripts.
Philological-linguistic commentary of some medieval romance texts, with a focus on Occitanic poetry (Bernart de Ventadorn and Raimbaut d’Aurenga) and on the afterlife voyage theme in some Oitanic and Spanish texts ( Lais e le Espurgatoire Seint Patriz di Marie de France, Roman d’Eneas, Lancelot di Chrétien de Troyes, Libro de Alexandre, Libro de Apolonio).

Attendance is not mandatory.

While the Student Handbook does not require mandatory attendance, it is recommended to confirm specific attendance policies with your professors for each course, lab, or practical training.
