Laurea in Scienze dell'educazione - Enrollment from 2025/2026

I 12 crediti liberi a scelta dello studente (ambito “D”) hanno lo scopo di offrire allo studente la possibilità di personalizzare il proprio percorso formativo permettendo di approfondire uno o più argomenti di particolare interesse legati al proprio percorso accademico.
Per garantire questo fine, si invitano gli studenti a rispettare le seguenti indicazioni per il completamento di tale ambito:

  •  almeno un’attività formativa erogata come esame universitario (con relativo voto in trentesimi) - è possibile scegliere fra i vari insegnamenti del proprio CdS non sostenuti in precedenza, anche quelli dell'altro curriculum, fra i vari insegnamenti degli altri CdS di I° livello afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Umane ed anche fra i vari insegnamenti dei CdS di I° livello ad accesso libero erogati dall'Ateneo di Verona;
  • massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze linguistiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
  • massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze informatiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
  • massimo 4 cfu di tirocinio, (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS); 
  • massimo 6 cfu di attività laboratoriale/esercitazioni (compresi quelli previsti nei PdS per l’ambito) di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 25 ore di attività; 
  • massimo 6 cfu di attività seminariale/convegni/cicli di incontri/formative in genere (sia accreditata dal Dipartimento di Scienze Umane che extrauniversitaria) – di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 8 ore di partecipazione e/o 2 giornate salvo diversamente deliberato;
  • non vengono valutate attività svolte in Erasmus non inserite nei Learning Agreement.

Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding 1. Knowledge and understanding the sociological aspects characterizing the concepts of socialization, primary socialization and identity, in relation to a socio-cultural context. 2. Knowledge and understanding the primary socialization as a process aimed at favoring the construction of social identity. 3. Knowledge and understanding the socialization agencies that characterize the current context, with particular reference to the family and services for children, paying attention to the related socialization techniques. 4. Knowledge and understanding the relationship between identity and difference, also through the concept of "inferiorization" and stigma. Applying knowledge and understanding 1. To apply the learned knowledge in order to identify and describe the processes that lead to the construction of social identity and difference and to recognize its languages, also in complex social and relational contexts. 2. To broaden one's "professional look", observing and entering into relationships with others, without preconceptions, recognizing their points of view. 3. To recognize, observing with different points of view, stigmatizing processes and languages, in order to promote positive and virtuous relationships. 4. Using the concepts learned and their relative dimensions and characteristics, as a sort of "toolbox" to deal with professionals today, the complexity that characterizes the socialization process.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Although some basic concepts will be briefly re-proposed, the knowledge of the basic notions of the sociological discipline is fundamental.

Program

To achieve the training objectives, the course will deal with the following topics:
• A changing context: "liquid" modernity and complexity
• The socio-cultural system and the learning of roles
• Processes of socialization and primary socialization
• Socialization, identity and difference
• The family as the primary socialization agency
• Socialization and early childhood: childcare services, peer groups, the media
• How to socialize: communication and relationship
• Stigmatization and social inferiorization
• Types of stigma
• Stigma and social relationships

Didactic methods

The TEACHING METHODS adopted in the classroom include the use of:
- lectures, dedicated to the transmission of basic notions and key categories, useful for the implementation of theoretical knowledge;
- interactive lessons, characterized by the analysis of films and exemplary materials, by common discussion, group work, exercises and where possible, by the relationship with privileged witnesses, aimed at improving learning skills, applied understanding, teamwork , relationship and communication.

Learning assessment procedures

The assessment of learning outcomes is the same for everyone (attending and non-attending students, as well as Erasmus students) and involves a mixed written test featuring 18 multiple choice questions and 3 open questions.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The mixed written test intends to evaluate
- knowledge related to the topics studied
- the ability to synthesize and the property of language
- the ability to analyze and compare different points of view.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

Each correct answer to the test part is worth 1 point.
Each correct answer to the open question is worth up to 4 points.
The final evaluation is expressed in 30/30.
