M-FIL/06 - HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY
Period
Sem IIA dal Feb 24, 2014 al Apr 20, 2014.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to promote a fruitful dialogue with a classic work of philosophical thought that deals with an issue as problematic as that of the possibility of founding a moral doctrine provided with objective value. The work which will be taken into consideration is Kant's Critique of Practical Reason, the significance of which we will try to seize remaining as faithful as possible to the intention of the author, but while stimulating reflection and personal evaluation of the topic.
Program
The main reference of secondary literature is a recent commentary of Kant's Critique of Practical Reason, which will be compared with other easily accessible commentaries. During classes we will proceed to contextualize the Kantian issue in the philosophical culture of the European Enlightenment and in its reference to the entire system (from the Critique of Pure Reason to the Critique of Judgment).
