1) The concept of sustainability: the use of natural resources and the limit of carrying capacity.
2) Global dynamics and sustainability objectives in international policies (GOAL 11 and 13).
3) The problems with international agreements concerning environmental questions (GOAL 13).
4) What are environmental externalities and what are the tools to deal with them.
5) The role of technological innovation: the Porter-Van der Linde hypothesis (GOAL 12).
6) Marketing and the environmental imperative according to Kotler (GOAL 12).
7) The challenges of the energy transition: the diffusion of renewable energy sources and the promotion of energy efficiency in end uses (GOAL 7).
8) Analysis of the tools to support "sustainable" marketing: the Life Cycle Assessment and the Carbon Footprint (GOAL 12).
9) Sustainable mobility and the electric vehicles revolution: the creation of the recharging infrastructure and the evolution of the range of products offered by the automobile industry (GOAL 11).
10) The basic characteristics of the circular economy and the transformations required of businesses and consumers (GOAL 12).
Didactic methods
Frontal lessons with the help of slides.
The slides used in class, articles to study or consult, updated data and additional information will be available through the teaching e-learning platform.
Learning assessment procedures
Oral exam will be taken in presence or online according to the epidemiological situation. Exam will remain the same in terms of content and format.
Evaluation criteria
The final assessment will be based on the knowledge and analytical skills demonstrated by the student, especially for what concerns the evolving relationship between environment, economy and society, and related policies.
