Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to structured programming by using the C pro-gramming language. The course is divided into two modules as detailed below. - Module Programmazione per Bioinformatica: This module provides the basics for writing and under-standing simple C programs. - Module Laboratorio di Programmazione I: The students will learn to develop code in structured pro-gramming style, by using the C programming language. At the end of the module, students will be able to use tools for editing and compiling, in order to produce simple C programs.

Program

Use of the Linux shell. Use of a text editor. Control structures of the C language. Data types of the C language. Pointers. Structures. Standard library of the C language. Preprocessor of the C compiler.

Examination Methods

Partial exam on the content of the first class period (in January) + partial exam on the content of the second class period (in June).
Alternatively, full exams on the full programme, at the end of the course: in July, September and February (of the subsequent year).
