Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
Aims
The course aims to help students being able to choose, read, understand and reformulate scientific information regarding studies, research and evidence for their education and practice.
One of the activities being carried out relies on the skill to actively read an article, detecting at first sight important information, such as the aim of a study, the method, the results, the conclusion, the design of a study, the background and relative literature review on the topic.
The course give the students the skills to read effectively in order to be able to share the outcomes of research in the form of abstract, speech, poster and report as well as in presenting speeches and reports in public speaking sessions.
Grammar structure and specific glossary will be dealt with during the lessons
Program
The programme includes:
Activities in smaller groups for developing the following skills:
Reading skills, research skills, speaking and presenting skills, dialogue skills, paraphrasing skills.
Terms and grammar.
Examination Methods
The exam is an oral exam. An English-language presentation of a research work carried out by a team of students (minimum 2 students, maximum 4 students).
The work consists in the presentation of a topic chosen to be identified among the topic addressed in the classroom.
In particular, the presentation will contain:
The description of an area of interest / topic with data, definitions, any descriptive video, statistics and comprehensive description of the topic background.
The description of a research question, Foreground or Background question.
The description of the research methods, such as keywords, such as databases, such as magazines, etc ...
The synthesis of the retrieved studies
The selection of one or more selected studies as evidence with the reasons for choosing
Content analysis of studies with the active reading mode.
The conclusions
The reflections on the relevance of the learned content
A glossary of scientific terms.
The group of students will prepare:
A printed copy of the slides or visual support material
A copy of files to be projected in ppt or Keynote or PDF.
The printing of the evidence.

Attività seminariali/a scelta dello studente
La Commissione Didattica organizza l'offerta di attività didattiche opzionali, realizzabili con lezioni, seminari, corsi interattivi a piccoli gruppi, tirocini fra i quali lo studente esercita la propria personale opzione, fino al conseguimento di un numero complessivo di 6 CFU.
Le attività formative a scelta dello studente si concludono con un esame, che, in quanto tale, concorre al completamento delle certificazioni di profitto requisito per accedere all'esame finale.
Il materiale didattico relativo alle suddette attività didattiche saranno messe a disposizione nello spazio moodle riservato allo stage.
Appelli d'esame
Potranno chiedere di fare l’esame di profitto o di laurea a distanza solo le studentesse e gli studenti in isolamento in quanto positivi al SARS-CoV-2. La richiesta dovrà essere fatta inviando al docente il modulo allegato
