Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide tools and knowledge useful for assessing and effectively dealing with emergency situations both in the intra and extra hospital, recognizing the potential sources of risk that affect people's perception and reaction, identifying the better corrective actions to act with awareness, protecting oneself and others.

Program

Principles and methods of the emergency system of the 118 Operational Center and of the Emergency / Urgency Departments (lecture)
Evaluation of the patient in peri-arrest and cardiac arrest, using the ABCDE / ABC method (lectures and case studies)
Triage: principles, application criteria and assignment of appropriate color codes, to define emergency priorities according to the Drg n.1888 of 2015 and n.1035 of 27/8/2019. Triage to the patient with cognitive impairment of various degrees (frontal lectures and clinical cases)
Emotional reactions of patients and principles of relationship / communication with the patient (frontal lecture)
Primary secondary (primary and secondary survey) evaluation of the patient traumatized in emergency, (frontal lesson with connected laboratory of first aid techniques)
Wounds and tampering maneuvers of external bleeding and wound dressing (frontal lecture)
Situations of first intervention for the patient burned, drowned, insect-prone, syncopated patient or with seizure in progress, patient with exposed fracture of the limbs (frontal lecture)
