Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

• Describe the direction of movement of the trunk and the limbs in relation to the anatomic planes and axes using a scientific terminology

• Know and use the positioning terms of body segments

• Know the definition of posture and station

• Observe and describe the postural attitude of the subject in a static situation

• Detect macroscopic postural alterations

• Identify macroscopic movement alterations by careful observation:
- from the sitting position to the standing station
- the path
- ascending and descending stairs

• Know the main aids for walking

• Perform proper handling of the loads while respecting the safety of the operator in accordance with the principles of ergonomics as laid down by the current rules
• Make posture changes from the lying position in the bed, to the sitting position, to the position at the standing and return station
• Carry out bed-wheelchair and wheelchair bed transfers
