Learning outcomes
The student, starting from the study of the basic sciences from which various rehabilitative theories originated, will be able to transform this knowledge into rehabilitation hypothesis that are then to be put to the test through therapeutic exercise.
In this course students are offered a comparison between the applications of the most popular theories in the 50's of the last century and the present day, via the visualization of the patient's observation mode, of rehabilitation treatments and the examination of the results.
Program
1. Origins and development of the different rehabilitation theories, in particular the theory of H. Kabat,of B. Bobath and C. Perfetti: from basic principles to the proposition of exercises
2. The different concept of movement.
3. How the transition from the mechanistic view to the systemic one modified the rehabilitation approach
4. the different interpretations of the disease according to the respective theory.
5. the development of studies on the plasticity of the central nervous system that led to several scientific paradigms and Treatment Options

Examination Methods
Written and oral exam concerning the deepening of topics related to the course but not explicitly covered in the course itself. The examination consists of a Power Point presentation to be presented to the entire class with a practical test of the application of certain exercises according to different theories analyzed during the course.
