Learning objectives

The specific educational objectives for the 2nd year refer to pathologies of interest in speech therapy, which concern the age of development, in particular are aimed at the evaluation, processing of the speech therapy budget and the consequent planning of speech therapy therapy of the following pathological pictures: - disorders of language development; - disorders of oral functions, peripheral mechanical dyslalia, deviated swallowing, velo-pharyngeal insufficiency; - results of P.C.I .; - pervasive developmental disorders; - voice and / or fluency disorders in the child; - learning disorders - linguistic-communicative disorders resulting from pre or post-lingual deafness

Prerequisites and basic notions

adequate theoretical skills acquired in the classroom and through study

Program

3 internship experiences within health services that treat pathologies of the developmental age: 1st experience: -Orientation within a service -Observe the activities carried out by the speech therapist (settings, material, etc.) -Make a comparison between theoretical and practical knowledge (compared to the theoretical skills acquired in class) -Know the team that collaborates with the speech therapist and be able to relate to the various professionals, family members, patients 2nd experience: -Collect and identify relevant data to evaluate the disorders of the patient -Applying speech therapy assessment tools with supervision -Using supervision to identify the objectives of speech therapy intervention -Identifying speech therapy activities -Developing and consolidating the ability to relate adequately with the patient and family -Develop critical thinking and reflective skills on the patient by comparing theoretical and practical knowledge 3rd experience: -Collecting and identifying anamnestic data, analyzing several relevant sources (reading a medical record) -Gradually acquiring autonomy and safety in acting (eg. carries out speech therapy interventions) - Good reflective and critical thinking skills - Acquire the ability to make solid connections between theoretical and practical skills - Possess relational and communicative skills towards the user/parents and team

internship experiences directly within 3 different health facilities that treat different pathologies of the developmental age

Learning assessment procedures

written exam with the drafting of the balance sheet and speech therapy treatment plan of a clinical case + oral exam concerning the theoretical notions learned during the 2nd year, discussion of the written paper and the reports elaborated during the internship

Evaluation criteria

-clear and precise drafting of report contents -capacity for clinical reasoning -use of correct terminology -adequacy of the objectives and activities of the report -capacity for reflection and critical analysis -knowing how to make connections between theoretical models and practical examples
