Learning objectives

This seminar provides PhD students with a comprehensive overview of the main research methodologies in psychology. Through practical exercises, starting from a bibliographic search of scientific articles, students will attempt to identify the methodologies applied in these studies. The goal is to learn how to recognize the main methodologies that have been covered in the course on research methods in psychology.

Prerequisites and basic notions

The course is the last stage of the path planned for the field of psychology, which includes the following meetings:
Research validity and methodological rigor: reviewers' perspective (Riccardo Sartori)
Research design (between subjects, within-subjects and mixed designs) (Elena Trifiletti)
Research design: two/three-waves and longitudinal designs (Elena Florit)
Physical measures and psychological measures (Roberto Burro)

Didactic methods

The workshop includes moments of individual and group work, for which the use of a PC is necessary, and moments of discussion with the teacher

Learning assessment procedures

Attendance at the seminar and completion of the tasks assigned during the workshop are necessary for the attribution of the expected CFUs.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Assessment

The skills acquired will be verified during the seminar, on the basis of the work carried out and/or the interventions.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

There is no assessment with a grade.
