Learning objectives
Aim of this course is to give students the basic concepts of robotic surgery, where a robot is in direct contact with a human operator or may be guided from distance. Several real systems belong to this specific situation, such as teleoperation systems, tele-driving systems, and rehabilitation systems.
In the first part we will address the basic methods for the interaction analysis of robots with the environment and with the operator, including basic concepts of kinematics and dynamics.
Furthermore, we will present more specific topics related with the planning of the surgical procedure through medical images analysis, computation of the trajectory and guidance of the robot during a procedure through intra-operative imaging support.
