Learning objectives

The course aims to provide a valid conceptual framework for an analytical and critical reflection on the contemporary world in relation to the theoretical evolution of strategic thinking. Concrete examples drawn from the history of the Middle and Far East, the Indian subcontinent, the different practices of struggle and resistance of minorities will be highlighted.

Prerequisites and basic notions

There are no specific requirements, except for an interest in the topics that will be covered during the lessons.

Program

The State of Exception and Asymmetric Warfare
The course will explore the concept of the state of exception and its implications in contemporary global governance and international relations. It will analyze the logic underlying the suspension of ordinary laws and examine the rise and impact of asymmetric warfare in contemporary conflicts.
